I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.

Former two time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
